What is JAIF?
For 20 years, the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) has supported cooperation between Japan and ASEAN, contributing to initiatives that promote regional integration, resilience, peace, and sustainable development.
Established in 2006, JAIF has grown alongside ASEAN, supporting hundreds of projects that respond to the region's evolving needs and priorities. From strengthening ASEAN integration to supporting disaster management, peace and stability, and sustainable growth, JAIF has helped turn Japan–ASEAN cooperation into meaningful action.

Why a Knot?
In Japanese culture, mizuhiki—the art of tying decorative knots—has long symbolized bonds, good wishes, and moments worth celebrating. It's a fitting reference for a 20th anniversary: two decades of cooperation, tied together into something that endures.
The JAIF 20th Year logo reimagines this tradition as a single thread looped into the shape of “20”. It represents not only an anniversary, but also continuity, connection and a partnership that continues to grow stronger.
